(More customer reviews)My 6 year old daughter kept begging me for one of these sets whenever I went into Kmart. Eventually I gave in and the set cost $25.
The 'lava' is a pot of gloop with no applicator to apply it with. You just have to splodge it on with your hands and hope that it spreads ok. My daughter managed to apply it all over the 'suncatcher' and then proceeded to colour it in. This bit went kind of ok - it does say to let the lava dry for a few minutes after application, but the stuff never really dries properly. The finished article in all honesty looked terrible! (No reflection on my daughter's craft skills as she is normally very good!) All up it probably took her about 10 minutes to make too so not good value for money.
I managed to hang it in my daughters window and it was there for a day when my daughter noticed that the lava had slid down the suncatcher and was now dripping all over my carpet. I was not impressed and had to spend ages scrubbing and scraping it off. Needless to say I am very annoyed as I am $25 out of pocket and also have a rather upset daughter!
I have emailed the company informing them what a load of old rubbish their product is. Do not buy at any cost, you have been warned, lol. If I could have awarded no stars then I would have.
I also have a friend who bought her daughter the glitter lava ice art desk and she says it is a load of old rubbish too.
